Job Title: Talent Consultant

Job Summary
Under the direction of the Director of Talent Strategy & Leadership Development, the Talent Consultant will support NiSource values, mission, and competency model through talent management programs and processes that are strategically linked to the organization’s business strategy. They will partner and collaborate with other HR functions, utilities training, change management, HR leadership, and business leaders to support the planning, design, development, implementation, and sustainment of processes/programs that increase employee engagement and accelerate performance to deliver business results. To include performance management, succession management, talent review, leadership development and targeted development programs for diverse talent, and other strategic initiatives. They will operate as the functional contact of talent management technology.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities

    Responsible for the collaboration and support of the design and execution of simple, scalable, and sustainable talent and leadership development strategies that identify and enable the future talent needs to execute business strategy across NiSource. Manages, develops, implements, and facilitates learning program content, talent processes/programs, and technology.
  • Assists with identification of assessment tools and technologies that align with the competencies identified for each level of leadership and/or role (i.e., 360s, leadership style indicators, etc.).
  • Partners effectively with external vendors and internal resources, as needed, for talent and leadership development solutions.
  • Serves as a key point of contact to the business for talent management processes, programs, and technology, addressing questions and requests in a timely and professional manner.
  • Designs evaluation strategies to collect feedback, assess the effectiveness of solutions, and make recommendations for improvements based upon external trends and industry best practices.
  • Markets, educates, and communicates with business and peers on resources, initiatives, and curriculum to include logistics.
  • Facilitates leadership development curriculum in a virtual and/or in-person instructor-led classroom setting.
  • Partners with LMS team to manage learning offerings.

Required Qualifications for Position
  • Bachelor’s degree
  • 2-5 years’ experience in a talent development related role designing and executing integrated development processes and tools across multiple functions, regions, or geographies
  • 2-5 years’ experience in analysis, design, development, implementation, and facilitation of leadership and interpersonal skill learning solutions
  • Ability to gain an understanding of organization’s business goals and translating business strategy into development needs
  • Strength in building trusted relationships and collaborating across teams
  • Project management skills to formulate a plan of action and effective execution of the plan
  • Ability to exercise independent judgment to make timely decisions and solve problems to deliver results
  • Demonstrated ability to handle multiple priorities and support multiple people/programs simultaneously with a strong attention to detail
  • Demonstrated customer service skills (both internally and externally) at all levels within the organization from entry level to the executive levels
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Excellent facilitation skills
  • Previous experience with competency models such as DDI and/or Korn Ferry
  • Proficient in MS Office (Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint)
  • Travel 15-20%

Preferred Additional Qualifications for Position
  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources or Organizational Development
  • Previous Workday experience (Talent, Performance, and Learning)
  • Certifications such as DDI, DiSC, Hogan, SHRM
